Sidney Anderson is a STOTT Certified Pilates Instructor and has practiced as a physical therapist for 27 years, creating and running her own business, Oasis Physical Therapy and Pilates in 1996. She studied dance medicine at the Harkness Center for Dance Injuries in New York City, completed studies through level three in the highly respected NAIOMT manual therapy curriculum, and received specialized training in treating balance and vestibular, osteoporosis/kyphosis, prenatal/postpartum and foot/ankle including custom orthotics.
As an Internationally Certified Childbirth Educator, Sidney taught childbirth preparation classes at the Childbirth Education Association of Seattle and developed Injury Prevention and Fitness classes for expectant mothers. She has presented on the topic of Dance Kinesiology at Western Washington University Dance Department and private dance studios.
As a modern dancer, Sidney taught and performed with Bellingham’s Dance Gallery. She performed in both Minneapolis and Seattle through the 70′s and 80′s. Her movement studies have included Dance Science, Pilates, Laban Movement Fundamentals, Aston Work, Feldenkrais and Yoga.
She is thoroughly excited about the workings of the body and loves to share her knowledge with others!
