Lenea Jones first discovered her love for Pilates as a teenager while training as a long distance runner. However she never imagined she would pursue a career in fitness and physical health. As a junior in college she developed some serious health conditions that left her questioning her future capabilities for basic daily function. In an effort to do all that she was able, Lenea began attending Ballroom dance classes with the Bellingham Dance Company. Soon she was dancing every evening and physically able to do Pilates again. Suddenly so many things that seemed impossible became easy to manage. Lenea has experienced a near complete recovery, with dance and Pilates greatly contributing to that process of restoration.
Along this journey, I discovered the healing and life-givng power of joyful movement, especially that which is done in community. This experience has transformed my concept of mind-body health and how we can cultivate it in our individual and collective lives. I am so thankful to have learned this and desire every part of my life to be transformed by this understanding.”
Lenea is excited and very honored to be joining the Joy of Pilates Instructors as she completes her STOTT Pilates training and Certification. She is also completing her BA at Western Washington University to pursue a career in Therapeutic Dance.
As a Pilates Instructor, Lenea considers it her honor and privilege to include and encourage others on their journey toward better health, interconnection and wholeheartedness. With every movement she invites others to join in the celebration of life. She is beyond excited to facilitate spaces of restoration, discovery, inspiration and challenge. She is passionate to explore with each client how life-giving movement connects to their personal story, and how Pilates can be used to help others achieve their unique goals.
In her free time, Lenea is an avid Ballroom dancer and international dance enthusiast. She loves exploring nature, traveling and meeting new people, enjoying music, theater and festivities with friends and family, and a good story!
My sincerest hope for everyone is that they would have the opportunity to discover the gift that movement can be!”
